| [Site] | How do you feel about your fans creating websites for the band? |
| [Kelly] | I think its a great thing, it's absolutely awesome. I don't know how it is for a lot of other bands but I know with ours with Type O Negative there is so many websites, I think it reflects on how dedicated our fans are to the band. |
| [Site] | Have you ever visited any of these fan-sites? |
| [Kelly] | Quite often, I have been informed that there are 75 of them I have only noticed about 20 of em. |
| [Site] | Where do you find your largest fan base? |
| [Kelly] | Our fan base is all over, mostly US and Europe. On a statistical note, we have the most records per capita sold in Colorado Springs. Which is pretty odd, that's how it stuck in my head. |
| [Site] | For venues, which do the band prefer. The large Festivals or the smaller clubs? |
| [Kelly] | Something a little bit bigger then a clubs, small theater kinda thing. The big things are great, you meet a lot of people in one shot, kinda like a media blitz. You show a lot of people what you are about. I don't know how they do it, the people who sit all the way in the back, I don't know how they have a good time. |
| [Site] | Who are some of the favorite bands that have either opened for the band, or the band opened for? |
| [Kelly] | Pantara is probably the coolest band we have ever played with. They treated us like family. It really is important to get along with the bands you are working with. Especially when you are out for a long time working together so closely. You are doing the same thing for months at a time, it really helps make the time pass a lot quicker. |
| [Site] | What is the name of the Tour? |
| [Kelly] | Not really, the mind set is kind of a 'Planet of the Apes' kind of thing. |
| [Site] | Who will be supporting you in-the upcoming tour? |
| [Kelly] | I believe it is Simon Says. |
| [Site] | Who chooses the supporting acts? |
| [Kelly] | Usually management. Sometimes we do, they will be like all right give me a list of some bands you would tour with. If we can afford to pay them. It's not like they put a call into the guys in the band and say we are doing a tour, come on out. |
| [Site] | Does the band ever do any 'Meet and Greets' outside of the 'After Show' parties? |
| [Kelly] | Roadrunner or usually the radio station will set up a meet and great. for that area. |
| [Site] | When you are out on the road during tours, you ever drive the bus? |
| [Kelly] | Yeah, I have driven the bus. I drove the semi once. |
| [Site] | What usually influences the venues chosen for the tours? |
| [Kelly] | Management / Booking Agent setup the shows, if we see a place on the itinerary that we really hate then we will say try to find another venue, but normally our of our hands. |
| [Site] | Before 'World Coming Down' was released there were rumors that Peter said that if the album didn't go as the band expected that would be the end of Type O Negative, Was any of that true? |
| [Kelly] | I'm sure at the time it was, just like the million other times he said that. |
| [Site] | What is your opinion of Napster? Do you think the internet is harmful to the recording industry or beneficial? |
| [Kelly] | Ahhh, I think its a form of bootlegging. statistically it's proven to be harmful for the record industry. For an unsigned band, its a good thing since they are not dependent on the money that comes for publishing. |
| [Site] | What is your favorite album? |
| [Kelly] | My favorite one, "World Coming Down" |
| [Site] | Least favorite? |
| [Kelly] | I think my least favorite, I would probably have to say probably Bloody Kisses or October Rust. Bloody Kisses for me doesn't seem like a whole record. As opposed to 'World Coming Down'. It seemed to have various directions, it just doesn't seem to have any direction. |
| [Site] | When did you join the band? |
| [Kelly] | I joined the band 2 months after Bloody Kisses was released. |
| [Site] | What is your favorite band? |
| [Kelly] | Led Zeppelin |
| [Site] | What does the band think of some of the newer bands coming out recently? Bands like Slipknot, Disturbed, Mudvayne? |
| [Kelly] | It's not really my kind of thing. The rap crossover thing for me I think I stopped at Aerosmith. Slipknot I really don't get it, The live show is great, but the music and stuff it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm 32 years old, I went through my Slayer phase almost 20 years ago. |
| [Site] | Do you have any side projects going on? |
| [Kelly] | No, not right now. Type O Negative is such a time consuming thing, especially now I have a baby coming. The baby is due in January. |
| [Site] | What does the band think of the Music channels and Radio? |
| [Kelly] | 'MTV' I really have no use for it at all anymore, It's not even a music channel. The Box is playing us. New York has always been a pretty liberal place but there radio stations have always sucked. For like heavy music. KROC is considered to be one of the biggest Radio stations in the country but yet their catalog consists of a dozen songs that they just keep playing over and over again. I really don't have a use for it. |
| [Site] | What does the band attribute their success to? |
| [Kelly] | Hard Work. We've worked really hard to create our niche. We toured for many years and we plan on keeping the same work ethic to continue. Also I guess the thing that ultimately made us successful was the diehard fans, guys like you that take the initiative to put up a websites and maintain them. People like you that help the cause, that is really what it comes down to. |
| [Site] | What were your influences growing up and what bands helped shape the sound that you possess today? |
| [Kelly] | Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, when I was teenager I listen to a whole lot Judas Priest and Mötley Crüe - Tommy Lee was one of my heroes when I was a teenager. One of the reasons I got into playing the drums, defiantly the reason I started playing a double base. |
| [Site] | What influenced October Rust? |
| [Kelly] | Testosterone - Trying to create music that had atmosphere that was sensual. A lot of elements of 60's and 70's pop intertwined with it. More of a psychedelic record. What we were into at the time. |
| [Site] | What influenced Bloody Kisses? |
| [Kelly] | The band experimenting, trying to find itself. |
