The Illowa Orchid Society
invites you to join us in the growing of orchids as a hobby. We foster good fellowship among our members, encourage the improvement of orchids by cultivation, hybridization, and exhibition. Our meetings, events, and shows disseminate useful information concerning orchids. Meetings: The Illowa Orchid Society meets the first Wednesday of every month except for a July picnic and an August member's growing area visit. Our December meeting is a Christmas dinner with a free orchid for every member. Each gathering consist of a short business meeting and a program and/or speaker on an orchid topic. Raffle tickets are sold at $1 each or six for $5. Plants are raffled at the end of each meeting. Refreshments are offered at each meeting. Members are encouraged to bring blooming plants for our show and tell table. A club member presents each of the plants on the show and tell table and owners are encouraged to comment on growing success for each of their plants. Read our newsletter here...
