Couple-a things from your webmaster....
1) Check out the photo page - photos from the musical,
Godspell, are posted
2) This is IMPORTANT - the Vocal Music emails coming to you are now coming
from a new mail address, "centralvocalnews@q.com".
Why is this important? Many of you have to "allow" certain email
senders to be able to send you mail. Things like our email blasts, which
go to hundreds or thousands of recipients, get flagged as SPAM and can be
blocked. To ensure that you get your Vocal Boosters emails, please check
to see that your internet service provider is not blocking mail, or if they are,
see how you can add the address above as an acceptable sender.
Many thanks to our lovely and dedicated email goddess, Dana Welser, for all the
extra work she has had to put in to make this work. The old email address
she was using was not getting through to some recipients, so she has done this
on her own to continue to provide TOP NOTCH SERVICE!!!!! Thank
you , Dana! You are the best!!!
3) On the Downloads page, there are two new entries - the All-State
information (All-State Info 2007) for those who made it to this great
event, and the Central Vocal Handbook 07-08. This was distributed to the
students, however we all know that this is not a sure thing that it will make it
to the parents, so it is posted here for downloading.
4) We are developing the Director's Page a bit - adding photos and bios
for our wonderful directors. That is in the works and not complete at this
time.
5) Another IMPORTANT thing to look at, please! One or two
people have been upset about not knowing about the Vocal Boosters
meetings. They are on the Calendar (go to the Calendar page on this
web site - you will download the latest version, which allows you to print the
whole thing or just one month at a time). If Vocal Boosters meetings
change, the exec committee is pretty good about updating the calendar and also,
hopefully, will get an email out via our email goddess about that change.
In any case, please consult the web site and the calendar first. If in
doubt, you can email any of the execs (see the CONTACTS page) and
ask. If you are not sure whether or not you should attend, please
know this: ALL parents of vocal music students at CHS are welcome, and
encouraged, to attend every monthly meeting. You will be welcomed
with open arms!! The more parent involvement, the more better!!!

Congratulations to the following 9th Grade Students for making the Iowa Choral Director's Associations 9th Grade OPUS Honor Choir:

These six students will perform at the 2007 Iowa Music Educators Association Conference held Thursday, November 15th at 4:00 PM on the campus of Iowa State University.
More information will be provided to these students next Monday during class.
