AgilPals Agility began in 1999. Timberlane's Brass Band Bill...a.k.a."Bill," a liver and white Brittany and his sister and litermate, Timberlane's JustaLark....a.k.a. "Lark," an orange and white Brittany, had completed a beginning class in agility. Both dogs had done obedience work and it was time to add a little excitement to our work and fun experiences.
We originally had developed our farm as a boarding and training facility for horses. From 1970 until 1992 we had trained, bred, and shown American Saddlehorses and had volunteered as 4H leaders in Rock Island County. The outdoor arena served as a perfect location for 2 agility arenas, both enclosed in dog safe fencing and developed on grass. All agility equipment was made and completed by late spring of 1999. During the first summer the Whitmores hosted agility training sponsored by a local kennel club. The following summer AgilPals was formed as a venue for beginning through advanced classes and as a place for runthrus for agility enthusiasts in the surrounding area.
Both Brittanys have had a very successful career in agility....Bill completed his AKC MX during the summer of 2002 and now proudly wears the name...UACHX UCDX Timberlane's Brass Band Bill CD MX AXJ. He is officially retired but continues his work as a therapy dog. Lark continues to work in the UKC venue and should complete her UACHX this spring. She proudly wears the name of...UACH UCD Timberlane's JustaLark NA NAJ. A new, young dog is now happily working toward AKC and UKC titles....UAGII Breeze MX MXJ, a Brittany rescue who began training in May, 2002 and did her first AKC trial in September 2002, completed her UKC AGI title in one weekend and also completed her AKC NA and NAJ titles in two trials. She has completed her 20" agility excellent and agility excellent jumpers with weaves titles. Breeze has finished her MX and MXJ titles and is well on her way to her MACH title.
