Breeze came to us as a rescue. She was probably 9 months old and had been kept by her breeder because she hadn't been sold...and she had been neglected. Breeze's mother had been rebred and was nursing several puppies. The whole little family was turned into a local no-kill shelter... we took Breeze home with the intent to foster and work with her and find a suitable home. Her mother and puppies stayed at the shelter and were eventually adopted.
Breeze was like a little wild animal! She didn't understand a checkcord or leash, she knew no commands,....she had no idea what was expected of her. So the first several weeks she was under the care and instruction of Bob. With his patience and kindness she learned all the basic commands and as the months went by we began to see a very intelligent and happy little Brittany girl. Bob taught her basic field work and she closely bonded with another rescue under our care.....Win. The two young dogs began working with Bob everyday and together. And I began to see some agility potential in Breeze. She was extremely toy and food motivated and constantly willing to please.
Breeze began her agility career at the 4RK9S UKC trial in July, 2002. She finished her AGI title that weekend with two firsts and one second. Her AKC career began in September, 2002. She finished her Novice B Standard 20" and Novice B Jumpers with Weaves 20" in October at the Urbana Kennel Club trial with 2 firsts in Standard and a second place in Jumpers with Weaves.
Breeze finished her 20" Open Standard title with a clean run and second place and Open Jumpers with Weaves title with a fourth place at the Scott County Kennel Club trial on February 1 and 2.
